Wow. Wolfmother’s concert tonight at GOMA, their first in over nine months, was superb. Every person in the small diverse crowd knew that they were lucky to witness such an amazing and intimate concert. It was the last night of the Andy Warhol exhibition and I don’t think any other Australian band could have closed it with such a bang. The band were completely unpretentious and humble, performing a wide selection of their songs including favourites Woman and closing with an amazing Joker & the Thief. Wow.
Wolfmother are closing the Andy Warhol exhibition this Saturday night at Goma. I managed to get tickets last night. If you aren’t lucky enough to already have tickets they are sold out. Apparently it is Wolfmother’s first show in nine months. I can’t wait.
I was pleasantly surprised on my walk home from work to see a giant can of tomato soup sitting in the middle of the Gray Street roundabout at South Bank. It’s part of the promotion for the Andy Warhol exhibit. I think my photos look slightly fake, they don’t seem to capture the depth of the cylinder.
I went to see the Andy Warhol collection last Sunday at GOMA; it was impressive. I liked the variety for an artist who I personally consider to be not that varied. The queues and general amount of people attending were massive. It is pop(ular) art after all.
I’m a bigger fan of the art than the person, I find the personal side of things a bit too weird for my liking.
