It was the coolest and rainiest Christmas that I can remember. We spent a fair amount of time reading, playing board games and eating.

I enjoyed seeing wallabies in the backyard at Currumbin.

I logged on to ebay today and noticed my latest ebay feedback rating.

I went for a 30 k bike ride today: return from South Bank to Portside Wharf. I measured it using my Nokia’s GPS. My average speed was about 18 kmph.
I am preparing for next Sunday when my Dad and I are riding across North Stradbroke Island and back. I have estimated it to be a 60 km round journey. I think it will be a hard ride but I think we can manage it.
I am looking forward to completing this ride. I think it might be the start of many long bike rides to come.
When I was riding through Newstead today, a billboard jumped out at me. What stood out was that it doesn’t even include a brand name anywhere on it, yet we all know what it is about.

Innately, I am a worrier. Whenever I start to worry I try to recall the following quotes.
The first is about the two rules of life:
Rule Number One: Don’t sweat the small stuff
Rule Number Two: It’s all small stuff
The second is a quote I heard in a film at the National Museum in Canberra in 2004:
“As long as I’m breathing, I’m having a good day”
The third is a part of an Underworld song, Born Slippy .Nuxx:
“Let your feelings slip boy, but never your mask, boy.”
The South Bank Beach officially re-opens today. That didn’t stop me from having a late night swim last night.
It is pretty unreal swimming at a (fake) beach, meters from the Brisbane river, at night, admiring at the city lights.
